Abstract
Hyperspectral imaging was developed by NASA to observe the Earth from space and map the distribution of minerals or vegetation, but its utility has been demonstrated in many different fields. The goal of this work was to build a hyperspectral camera in the visible range of light. To do that, a linear-variable band-pass filter has been used alongside a monochromatic camera and a linear stage with a piezoelectric motor. We obtained a hyperspectral camera capable of measuring in the range of 410 nm to 700 nm and we managed to render color using the reflectance curve. We saw that it is possible to build a camera with enough sensibility to be able to differentiate among similar colors.
